Micropower and Empowered By Light teamed up to donate and install a solar and battery storage microgrid system to run a remote medical clinic located at an indigenous community in the Xingu region of Brazil. The renewable microgrid powers communication equipment, a satellite dish, a refrigerator and other medical equipment to support remote medical consultations and vaccinations.
